Description

SCOPE OF WORK:
A. The Work for the Contract, in general, consists of, but is not limited to, the items listed below:
1. Furnishing all equipment, tools, materials, labor, management, coordination and other services required to construct the Work as specified in the Contract Documents.
2. The major elements of work are:
a. Mobilization, demolition, excavation, clearing and grubbing, and protect in place, relocate or maintain existing facilities during constructien. Demolition shall include removal and disposal of the existing warehouse structure of approximately 120,000 sq. ft. (200 feet by 600 feet), loading docks, utilities, slabs on grade, and foundation.
b. Grading, site preparation, site work, site utilities, landscaping, drainage facilities, and final cleanup.
c. Construction of a new Central Warehouse Building including offices, storage areas inside building, outside break area, docks, and appurtenances. The Work includes, but is not limited to, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Fire Alarm, Communication Systems including Public Address (P A), Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Telephone and Computer Systems complete as shown on the Contract Drawings or specified in Contract Documents.
d. Removal, preservation, salvage, storage and installation of items to be reused or reinstalled.
e. Coordination of work to provide for continuous ingress/egress and for continuous operation of Hayward Maintenance Complex.
f. Ductbank, manholes, transformer pads and cable/wire as shown on Contract Drawings for extension of a standby power feed. Transformers will be provided by others.
g. Warehouse equipment including furnishing and installation of new Contractor-furnished equipment, and installation of District-furnished, Contractor installed equipment.
3. The Contractor shall demolish and restore designated existing features as indicated on the Contract Drawings including, but not limited to: paving, utilities, fire hydrants, piping and other features.
4. The Contractor shall provide protection for existing utilities including, but not limited to: mechanical and plumbing, fire protection, electrical, irrigation, communications, security, and safety systems.
5. The Contractor shall provide site preparation as indicated on the Contract Drawings, including but not limited to, installation and removal of temporary construction fencing and barricades; and demolition and temporary reconfiguration of other existing facilities.
6. All Work shall be in compliance with 2013 California Building Code Disabled Access Requirements and California Code of Regulation Title 24, Part 2, US Department of Justice ADA Standards for Accessible Design and United States Access Board Accessibility Guidelines and Standards under ADA and Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) current edition.
7. Project is targeting USGBC LEED NC v.2009 certification, (minimum level 'certified'). LEED requirements are defined in Section 01 81 13, Sustainability Requirements. The Contractor is responsible for tracking and achieving all targeted construction-related credits and for submitting the LEED on-line construction phase documentation to demonstrate compliance.
8. Comply with general requirements and procedures described in the 2013 California Green Building Standards Code (CALGreen), as amended, - Matrix Adoption Table; Chapter 5 - Nonresidential Mandatory Measures. In the event a CAL Green requirement is more stringent than USGBC LEED NC v.2009 criteria, the CAL Green requirement shall govern. CAL Green standards can be accessed through the following website:

S.J. Amoroso is willing to break out certain portions of work into smaller increments in order to allow smaller companies a fair opportunity to bid this Project and are prepared to assist Subcontractors with bonding, credit, and insurance.

Interested bidders are encouraged to attend a pre-bid matchmaking session and contractor networking event to be held at 4PM, January 4, 2018 at 1029 Whipple Road, Hayward CA 94544.
